There are 400 deaths in Australia every year from asthma. Research will help find a cure. Help us raise $10,000 for Asthma Australia. |
What is 5k A Day in May?
5k A Day In May is an initiative to raise awareness and much-needed funds for asthma research.
During the month of May you can walk, run, ride or swim 5 kilometres every day and raise money for Asthma Australia. You could set yourself a challenge to achieve 5 kilometres every day, or you could get a group of friends together and make it through a team effort. Whatever you want to do to achieve your 5k A Day in May, it's a great way to have fun, get active and spread the word about asthma. |
Why Was It Created?
5k A Day In May is the initiative of local Newcastle business owners, Kerri-Ann Hooper of Carnelian Projects and Natalie Doolan of Carnelian Property Management.
With a personal family connection with asthma, it is through this fundraising event that we can grow the awareness of asthma and help researchers in finding a cure. We would like to share our personal story with asthma.
Asthma Foundation was founded in the early 1960s to support vital asthma research. Thanks to the many advances in medication and education, championed by the Foundation, asthma is now a manageable condition for the 1 in 9 adults and children who live with asthma in Australia. They are able to do almost anything, provided they manage their asthma properly.
